Dani fell in love with the way meditating made her feel as a child. Her first meditation, was the result of listening to a visualization that a teacher shared to calm the class. It worked, and she was hooked.

She has spent decades practicing and studying meditations, and has realized that there really is no one way. It’s about finding which one works best for you.

What type of meditation is best for you?

One way to do this is through exploration. One of the simplest form of meditations is to focus on your breathing. Bringing awareness to your inhalation and your exhalation gives you a simple focus. Dare to add in a pause, count how long you hold your breath, release, or inhale.

Visualizations are a popular form of meditation. You use your imagination to envision a mini journey or a possible future. Usually you are given instructions to imagine something along the lines of a colored light, walking through a forest or some space, noticing your surroundings.

Meditation can even be listening to music, consciously clearing your mind, or a moving meditation where you walk, dance, even run. Enjoying a simple cup of tea or coffee can be a meditation.
